even though sch has started, i admit im still not treating it too seriously.
which should be a grave mistake for a final year student.
but how can anyone concentrate in the midst of the olympic!
im dillgently catching events such as swimming, diving, athletics, diving, gymnastics, table tennis, badminton and many many more.
i really think these athletes put in a lot more effort than we can imagine.
i think the most talked about athlete should be michael phelps.
i mean. 8 golds. and he did it. at an age of what 23?
its amazing. the determination that he has. he swims 30 hrs a week! and of coz. luck plays a part. he's good.
and there's usain bolt. he's only 21. and he's got the world fastest man title under his name. he's someone to watch out for. definitely.
and for singapore! finally a medal in 48 years. but there has been sarcastic comments ard. yes. table tennis. saying its china vs china. but we should really reflect upon these comments. i believe the ladies have earned their citizenship through their dedicated training. and they can be called singaporeans! what singaporeans should do is to cheer them on. which is what i will do! :)
apart from the olympics, there's this one other issue that i have been following!
coz i read the sunday times last week. about this female malay journalist who wrote about being a malay in singapore. well, she said that she always needed to work extra harder to prove herself, that there's this stereotype that malay family has low household income, malays have lesser education etc. becoz i have malay frens too. so this article stood out. i nv tot abt all these issues that they may faced. i tot over the years things have picked up for them. higher household income. more having tertiary education. at least the article managed to brough more awareness to non-malays.
anyhow. to those that thought i went mia. im just too lazy to blog.
