Hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones- what's the difference?
Tropical cyclones are heat engines formed over tte vast expanses of water that form the world's oceans. Over the Atlantic Ovean, they are called hurricanes ;over the Pacific Ocean, they are called typhoons; and over the Indian Ocean, they are called cyclones.
How are they named?
They have been given people's names since the 1950s. The lists of names alternate between male and female names and are agreed on years in advance. Typhoons are also given names of animals, flowers and other words.
all these facts i din realli know lor. wasted my geo teacher's efforts. hehex.
oh well the main thing is.
i realli tink the natural disasters are like getting more and more frequent.
and the more impt thing is no one is sure whether the relief efforts are sufficient.
dent there's also the issue of the medan air crash. gosh. its horrible.
and in singapore. we are plagued by dengue fever.
environmental problems.
